Why Recycle?

Recycling is one of the best, and easiest, ways to make a positive impact on the world and you can do it yourself.

There is a constantly increasing amount of waste because people are buying more, the population is increasing and new products are becoming less biodegradable. Waste has a huge negative impact on our environment as we are using resources faster than they can be replenished, we are destroying natural habitats to store our waste in landfill and these landfill sites release harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses. We will soon find ourselves out-of-pocket as the cost for raw materials will increase as natural resources become depleted.

What can recycling do to help?

  • Recycling reduces the demand for raw products which in turn decreases the amount of deforestation and pollution caused from creating new goods and throwing away old goods.
  • Recycling preserves natural resources as it requires less energy and re-uses inputs. This saves the planet for future generations.
  • Recycling reduces the cost of products and therefore reduces your cost of living.

The Australian government created a National Waste Policy in 2009, which is committed to improving the efficiency with which resources are used, reduce the impact on the environment of waste disposal, and improve the management of hazardous wastes. At Vinsan Salvage we believe we all need to do our bit to further this policy and help save our environment.

How can recycling benefit me?

Buying recycled products comes with numerous benefits in addition to reducing your carbon footprint:

  • Recycled products are cheaper than buying brand new.
  • Some recycled products are now unique as they are no longer manufactured. This makes recycling invaluable when trying to replace something you once had.
  • When it comes to recycled timber, not only are you getting the benefit of helping the environment, but you are also getting timber that is sturdier, as it has been exposed to changing weather for a longer period of time than new products.
